Institute for Ocean Technology
The Institute for Ocean Technology (IOT) was established in 1985 to provide technical expertise in support of Canada's ocean technology industries. No other organization in Canada offers the combination of knowledge, experience and world-class facilities.
IOT conducts ocean engineering research through:
- Modeling of ocean environments
- Predicting and improving the performance of marine systems
- Developing innovative technologies that bring benefits to the Canadian marine industry
C-CORE
C-CORE specializes in ice engineering, remote sensing, seabed geophysics and geotechnical engineering. The highly qualified staff represent a broad spectrum of academic and scientific expertise, from sciences and engineering to mathematics and computer sciences. It assists with the development of marine resources through education and training, identifying impediments to offshore resource development and transferring technology to the private sector.

Fisheries and Marine Institute of Memorial
University of Newfoundland
The Marine Institute fulfils the dual role of educational institution and research facility. While its activities are predominantly marine-related, the scope of these projects has much wider applications. It houses some of the most advanced equipment in the world including the largest flume tank of its type in the world.
Ocean Sciences Centre
