population) calling the Northeast Avalon home. - The region is the most densely populated of the zones
with average 135 people per square kilometre. - Population increased in our zone by 4.4 per cent over the
2001 - 2006 period, compared to the provincial rate which
declined by 1.5 per cent - 80,044 households - that’s 33.9 per cent of the provincial total.
Of the total population for Zone 19: 
- 94.1 per cent lives in the seven larger communities (population >2000).
- 2.0 per cent lives in four medium-sized communities (population > 1000).
- 3.9 per cent lives in eight communities of less than 1000 residents.
The average family income for Zone 19 is $40,000 - that’s 1.2 times the provincial average. Personal disposable income is $13, 804 per capita, 1.2 times the provincial average and just under the national average.
