Government Incentive Programs
Our federal, provincial and municipal governments are committed
to attracting new business into the province. To support this they’ve
developed attractive business incentive programs.
The Economic Diversification and Growth Enterprises Program
(EDGE) is one of the best business incentives in Canada
and includes a fifteen-year tax holiday to qualified business.
Many municipalities (Flatrock, Paradise, St John’s and Mount Pearl) complement this program with up to a 75 per cent reduction in the municipal business tax rate for new and expanding business.
Through the Business Attraction Fund, the provincial Department of Business provides large-scale, strategic loans and equity investments in new business ventures and infrastructure in Newfoundland and Labrador.
