areas of responsibility.
 
Federal law regulates, among other things, the oceans and the
environment, immigration, federal taxation, and national defence.


Provincial law
regulates, among other things, business, rural development, highways and roadways, inland waters, education, and health care.

Municipal governments regulate housing construction and property tax.
